About Richard Young

Hello, my name is Richard Young and I am the owner of Lancashire Tutoring Ltd.

I have worked as a full time teacher of Economics and Business Studies for nearly 30 years, both as a Head of Department and associate teacher/lecturer. This has given me the opportunity to work across the two sectors, including: HMC independent schools and inner city multicultural schools.

I am a Business Studies graduate and I have a distinction at Masters level in Educational Leadership and School Improvement.  I offer a bespoke tutoring for the Business and Economics student.  Lancashire tutoring is a new venture and I believe I can provide the ideal combination of experience, innovation and flexibility of approach to assist my students in their quest to maximise their potential.

I have a deep love of the subject and my proven track record of offering a targeted pedagogy has led to success across a wide range of ages and abilities from Oxbridge candidates at A level through to special needs children at GCSE. Effective differentiation has been crucial in achieving success along the way. Nearly all my students obtain a place at a Russell Group University. Students want consistent high quality lessons and this is my mission.

I attend regular CPD on subject examination updates, radicalisation and child protection issues. I am a former departmental SEN representative.

I am based in Chorley, Lancashire, but I am happy to take assignments in any location in Lancashire.
